The name of that kind of soft ware is "Adobe Photo Shop". Its very commonely used in the world. While there is another soft ware "Coral draw". But this one is not very famous. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are great programs. The easiest program to make repeats is Nedgraphics, it puts it in repeat for you, very simple.

adobe photoshop, adobe illustrator, coreldraw and anseries are all great programs. you just have to practice and they will be great for you.

Then your need is some cad softwear, as like autocad for enginering designing; weaving designing softwear-nedgraphics; embroidery softwear-Wilcom to creat CAD.
