How can I become a fashion designer?

I REALLY want to be fashion designer. I'm just out of high school and live in a small town so theres not much fashion here. I'm not sure where to go- a university, online, or just start making some designs. Pls give me some advice for what to do...

I am also aspiring for the same goals as yours, but I can;t get a start. I personally think that if u have age with u , u shd start with a degree, e.g a BA and build on that. As for my case I am 33 years of age and belong to a technical background i.e i am an aeronautical engineer with approx. 10 years of experience but i have ahd enougha nd want to follow my dreams.
