How can I become a fashion designer?

I am also aspiring for the same goals as yours, but I can;t get a start. I personally think that if u have age with u , u shd start with a degree, e.g a BA and build on that. As for my case I am 33 years of age and belong to a technical background i.e i am an aeronautical engineer with approx. 10 years of experience but i have ahd enougha nd want to follow my dreams. The best thing to do is to study for a Bachelors Degree in an accredited university, one that specializes in Art and Design courses. This should last 3-4 years. Once you complete the course, you'll need to start work as an Assistant/Junior designer under a Senior designer. You could also study for a part-time Masters degree in this time.
Once you've gained a few years of experience, you should be able to look for a better position in another design firm. Later on you could even try to open your own fashion label, or begin to work freelance.
